Marci Cornell-Feist is a national expert on charter school governance. She has worked with over 500 charter schools nationwide to improve their effectiveness—more than anyone else on the planet. She founded her charter school consultancy Meetinghouse Solutions in 2001, and has focused on charter school governance since the mid 1990s. She created BoardOnTrack to implement the most effective strategies and practices of her many clients, and as a means of spreading this information to a wider audience of charter schools.
Marci is also a co-founder of The Achievement Network, which helps schools use data-driven strategies to raise student achievement.
Earlier in her career, Marci worked throughout the nonprofit sector, including positions as a senior staffer at the Massachusetts Charter School Resource Center, Northwest Regional Director for the Student Conservation Association, Deputy Director of the Consortium/UNHCR refugee resettlement program in Lao P.D.R., and Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand. Marci is a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Bowdoin College.
Rick is a software engineer with over twenty five years of expertise developing top-rated, enterprise-quality products. We’re fortunate that he wrangles BoardOnTrack code into submission with particular mission flair, as he is the proud parent of a charter school student. Rick always codes with the valiant school staff and board members in mind.
Prior to joining BoardOnTrack, Rick worked at Oracle Inc. in the Health Sciences Global Business Unit, designing and developing the Clinical Development Center system. In addition, Rick was a principal software engineer at Incipient Inc. and helped create the architecture, design, and development of a cutting edge, highly scalable, interactive Web 2.0 storage virtualization management application. He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
A process engineer on the side, Ben is constantly focused on doing things smarter, better and faster. He is the founding partner of Driven Insights, an outsourced accounting firm. Prior to Driven Insights, Ben co-founded Wheelock Partners, a boutique private equity firm focused on acquiring and operating $5-50m businesses. He led Wheelock’s acquisition of NEP where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Ben began his career at Abbott Laboratories as a program manager for Abbott’s blood glucose monitor product lines. Ben is an active advisory board member for several regional organizations, including the Foundation for Academic Excellence . He earned a B.S. in Engineering from Dartmouth College and Master of Engineering Management Degree from the Thayer School at Dartmouth College and the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. Ben was a Division I NCAA All American in alpine skiing.
Bob serves as BoardOnTrack’s Chief Operating Officer with a focus on school and board member success. Bob combines a deep technology consulting background with a passion for education and entrepreneurship.
Recently Bob led Customer Success and Operations for MPOWER Financing where his team doubled both the number of students served and revenue over a one year period. Prior roles focused on both business model transformation and senior executive / board governance in a variety of settings.
Bob was elected Vice Chairman of his local school committee and led the outreach efforts for the Society of Information Management (SIM) – Boston chapter much of the past 10 years. He is a proud graduate and active alumnus of the University of Virginia’s engineering school and Darden School of Business.
Chief Marketing Officer
With nearly 20 years of experience leading marketing in nonprofit, Fortune 500, education, and entrepreneurial settings, Rachel builds people-centered marketing for mission-minded brands.
Prior to becoming BoardOnTrack’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rachel founded 929 Marketing, a consultancy working with educators and mission-minded entrepreneurs. She launched her career managing membership growth and a nationwide volunteer program at the globally-focused nonprofit, UUSC, and later led corporate marketing strategy for the Fortune 500 early education leader, Bright Horizons.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music and alum of Seth Godin’s altMBA, Rachel’s work is defined by a singular combination of strategy, creativity, and heart.
When not making marketing, Rachel can most likely be found quoting the Three Amigos, devouring the latest lovely novel, or listening to anything the Grateful Dead did before 1974.
As BoardOnTrack’s Vice President of Growth, Joe draws on his extensive professional experience in the software sector and on his personal passion for education. He takes pride in being a part of small teams achieving big goals, and is excited that his work will help Charter Schools across the country fulfill their missions.
Before joining BoardOnTrack, Joe helped to open a new private elementary school in Rhode Island and, prior to that, led the successful growth of a small software business in the professional sports space. He has also served as an athletic director in the private school world.
Joe is a graduate of Harvard College and of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He lives in Boston and is proud to remain active as a runner, as tennis coach of the Knights, and as a Director of the Friends of Harvard and Radcliffe Rowing.
Justin is passionate about bringing people together for a shared experience and the power of networking. He brings over 10 years of marketing experience to Board On Track with a specialty in events and brand experience. He’s helped to build the brand and market presence for two hyper-growth technology companies, Carbon Black and Care.com, both based out of Massachusetts, and is proud to be a part of another locally based software company.
Justin currently lives in Watertown, MA and, while not working, enjoys playing softball nationally, managing and playing in a cornhole league, performing and directing in theater productions around the Boston area and watching reality competition TV shows (with a dream of being on Survivor one day!)
Ahmos Diaz joins the BoardOnTrack Team with over seven years of marketing communications experience. Formerly, he was the Demand Generation Manager for Verizon Digital Media Services. He has a strong background in B2B tech companies and has helped them grow into successful businesses. He has a BA in Mass Communications with a double concentration in Journalism and Media Production from Franklin Pierce University and an MA from Emerson College in Integrated Marketing Communications.
While not working, Ahmos enjoys traveling around the world and you can catch him at ImprovBoston performing his comedic stand ups and improv.
Mike joins the BoardOnTrack team with professional experience in higher education, board governance, law, and state and local politics. Most recently, Mike worked for the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, where he served as the Director of Trustee and Community Relations and formerly as Deputy General Counsel. Mike began his career as a Legislative Aide at the Massachusetts State House while attending law school full-time. In addition to his professional experience, Mike volunteers for a variety of organizations. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Town of Littleton School Committee, on the Board of Directors of the Freedom Summer Collegiate, an education non-profit that he co-founded, and as an active member of the UMass Lowell Young Alumni Council.
Mike currently lives in Littleton, Massachusetts and is a proud graduate of both the University of Massachusetts Lowell and New England Law Boston. While not working, Mike enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, traveling, and spending time outside with his French Bulldog, Charlie!
Melissa Danisch brings the combination of non-profit board experience, lawyer and volunteer to her new role as Membership Specialist at BoardonTrack. Melissa started her professional life as a lawyer, representing both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, in corporate formation and governance matters, as well as defending families in probate court and real estate negotiations. Her volunteer experience evolved from serving as a criminal defense student-attorney in law school, coaching youth soccer for over 20 years, to serving on the boards of local non-profits organizations, like the League of Women Voters, Andover Soccer Association, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Lawrence and (currently) the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence.
Melissa took time away from the working world to raise her three beautiful kids, all lucky recipients of her lectures on local history, usually as they explore historic sites. As an amateur historian, she is a genealogist and also volunteers at the Andover Historical Society and Lawrence History Center. Melissa is a Massachusetts native, who graduated with a BA in History from Macalester College, and a JD from Suffolk University.
Kyle McCarthy joins the BoardOnTrack Team with several years of business development experience. Formerly, he was a small business consultant for PayChex. He has a strong background in tech companies.
Kyle is a proud graduate from Assumption College with a BA in History and Political Science. While not working, he enjoys hiking, camping and enjoying outdoor activities.
Petar Matković joins BoardOnTrack as a full-stack software developer with over nine years of experience in software development. He works on designing and building features with a strong focus on creative solutions and user-oriented designs, while working remotely from Split, Croatia.
Prior to BoardOnTrack, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Extension Engine, building top rated IT solutions for clients in the education field. He also successfully accomplished large freelance projects for the local Croatian market. Petar is a proud graduate of University of Split (FESB) with a MS in Computer Engineering.
While not programming, he enjoys biking, swimming and hiking.
